ASHRAE NAC Annual Golf Tournament
The 2021-2022 ASHRAE season started with a carryover event from the 2020-2021 season with the annual golf tournament being pushed into September. 113 golfers braved very windy conditions at Redtail Landing. Dinner followed the golf.
September Meeting
The 2021-2022 ASHRAE season started similarly as the last season ended – amongst the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, meetings start off virtually.
The first meeting of the 2021-2022 season took place on Wednesday, September 22 virtually. The guest speaker was Jamie Barrows from Exel Systems. Jamie presented on self-cleaning filtration solutions for HVAC Applications.
October Meeting
October’s meeting was the first in person meeting in over a year and was held on Wednesday, October 20 at the Clerks’ Quarters in Fort Edmonton Park. The event was Oktober Fest themed. The guest speaker for this event was Zachary Vogt of Kelvion who presented on adiabatic dry coolers.
November Meeting
November’s chapter meeting was again held virtually on Wednesday, November 17. Mike Koupriyanov with Price Industries was the featured speaker presenting on computational fluid dynamics for saving energy and improving air quality.
December Meeting
ASHRAE NAC’s annual holiday luncheon was again held in person at the Delta Hotel South Conference Centre on Friday, December 10. As in past years, all proceeds raised were donated to the Christmas Bureau. Lisa Dayanandan from the Christmas Bureau spoke on the impact the Christmas Bureau has on families I the Edmonton area.
The event included a raffle for door prizes donate by various company members of ASHRAE NAC.
January Meeting
The first meeting of 2022 was again held virtually and was held on Wednesday, January 19. The guest speaker was Paul Wright from Helix Corpt Ltd. who presented on variable frequency drives in fan array applications.
February Meeting
February’s chapter meeting took place on Wednesday, February 23 and was again held in person at the Four Points by Sheraton Edmonton South. The dinner meeting included guest speaker Rajavel Balaguru with Johnson Controls who presented on fan system efficiency.
Diversity in ASHRAE - Cooking Class
The diversity in ASHRAE NAC chair hosted a virtual cooking class on Thursday, February 10. Chef Carene Schroeder guided the class through making delicious Chakchouka.
March Meeting
The March dinner meeting took place on Wednesday, March 23 at MKT Fresh Food | Beer Market. The guest speaker was Mark Henry with Engineered Air who presented heat recovery technologies.
April Meeting
The April chapter meeting took place on Wednesday, April 20 at the Four Points by Sheraton Edmonton South. The guest speaker was Dana Heller with Merlin Instrumentation. Dana presented on airflow measurement.
Technical Seminar
ASHARE NAC in partnership with BOMA Edmonton hosted a technical seminar on April 29 at the Sandman Signature Downtown Hotel. The breakfast meeting included a technical presentation by Hugh Crowther of Swegon North America who presented on creating sustainable and healthy buildings.
May Meeting - Lobsterfest
The annual chapter Lobster Fest was held again on Wednesday, May 18 at the Redtail Landing Golf Club.
ASHRAE NAC Annual Golf Tournament
The final event of the 2021-2022 season was the annual golf tournament held on Wednesday, June 15 at Redtail Landing Golf Club. The tournament included breakfast, a shot gun start at 8:00 AM followed by dinner with prizes and awards.
